F.I.S.H. stands for "Fishing In Schools Happening." A F.I.S.H. Event is an outdoor fishing trip that is held as the culminating activity for students having completed their "Fishing in Schools" course at their school. The F.I.S.H Event is a fun, lightly-competitive event, that gets youth on the water to fish. It challenges their skills and puts their learning into action.
Events are held for students in grades K-12. Students in these grade levels are able to use age-group-specific NFSP equipment. The lesson plans were written and presented to enable participation throughout these grade levels, offering a "continuum" of complimentary curricula to suit the needs of educators across multiple grades.
At the school's discretion, both fly and spincast fishing methods may be included. F.I.S.H. Events use artificial lures/flies (no live bait) and are Catch & Release Only.
